Mission Statement
It’s taken me years to claim my place in
the world as an artist but I finally see what
I can do. I can also love what I do and do what
I love. This place holds so much opportunity
for us all to be the creative beings we are.
Whether we refer to this life force that guides
us as God, Higher Power or Allah, or whatever
you may want to call it, I have realized I’m
but a humble servant to this force and what may
be brought thru me as a creative expression.
I make a noble effort to be in the NOW, that
precious moment that will never come again. Also,
thru many difficult experiences I’ve
learned how unique we all are and there
will never be
another you or me in the history of Mankind.
So I know we all have a divine purpose.
I pray and hope I can leave something behind
that
will enrich this world.

Bio for Pilar Walsh
Pilar
has performed on stage all her life and has expanded her
experience working in film, television, print and cabaret.
Pilar
has spent most of 2007 in Hawaii but will be taking up
residence in Los Angeles as of January 2008. She came to
Hawaii to work as a make-up artist for photographer Elea
Dumas, her daughter, located in Los Angeles, who was doing
stock photos for Jupiter Images. It was so lovely she decided
to stay.
While in Hawaii Pilar was fortunate to have worked with Manoa
Valley Theater in the inspired, witty satire of musical
theater, "The Musical of Musicals: The Musical". A
show poking fun at 5 different popular Musical Theater giants
such as Sondheim, Lloyd-Weber, Rogers and Hammerstein, Jerry
Herman, Kander and Ebb. It was a great success and it
showcased her numerous talents.
Upon
arriving in Seattle in May of 2005, Pilar Walsh worked
a print job for AAA of Washington,
taught runway modeling, acted on the Spirit of Washington
Train “It’s a Mystery” show, shot in-house
videos for Children's Hospital and Starbucks, and performed
at ArtsWest Theater in her own cabaret show.
She also performs as a soloist for UCC in Alki. She is
working on a film by Michael Sanchez, “The Return
of Great Guy.”
Just
this last year, while living in Los Angeles, she played
Liza Minelli on MAD-TV , shot a scene with Alec Baldwin
and Annette Bening for the film “Running With Scissors”and
created her cabaret show “Mostly Sondheim and a ‘lil
Lloyd-Weber” which incorporated poetry she has
written. She is also a member of Screen Actors Guild.
Her
career began as a dancer having studied ballet from her
mother, a ballerina from Rio de Janiero, Brazil. She
went on to take classes at the University of Hawaii and
performed ballets and modern works with the dance department
and other venues in Honolulu including the Royal Hawaiian
Hotel showroom, Hawaii Opera Theater, Hawaii Performing
Arts company and many more. Her dance credits include
the operas Faust, Aida, Tales of Hoffman and Mephistopheles,
industrial shows for Singer Co., Kelvinator and The Fine
Jewelers Guild and many ballets. She began studying voice
and acting while in Hawaii and worked on “Hawaii
5-0” , “The Brian Keith Show” and the
original “Brady Bunch”. Armed with a letter
of recommendation from Jack Lord himself, to give to
Charles Conrad, she set out to study acting in Los Angeles
where she was born and raised. Instead, she went on to
New York to study dance and was hired to work summer
stock in New Hampshire performing musicals and also working
backstage.
She
returned back to Los Angeles two years later to study
mime from Richmond Shepard and acting/singing
from Lance
Lindsay of the Performers Studio. Not much later she decided
to marry, settle down with her husband and daughter, Elea,
eleven, and eventually have three more children. Twelve years
later she divorced and began studying acting in Houston from
Brandon Smith and Chris Wilson, and was immediately hired
to perform Mother Goose in Actors Theater of Houston’s
production of “Pocketful of Rhymes”.
More
recently she performed opposite Ken Page, the original
Duetoronomy of “Cats” in Austin Musical Theaters “Man
of La Mancha” as Maria and prior to that performed
in Second Youth Theater’s World premiere of “O’Henry’s
Musical Short Stories” at the Scottish Rite Theater.
She performed with the Hollywood Playhouse in Florida as
Charlotte in the musical “Charlotte’s Web”.
Before that she toured with “The Barney Show” as
cast manager/dance captain, she sang with the Spokane Symphony
an original work by Lucas Richman, the current conductor
of the Knoxville, Tenn. Orchestra. Other shows include Bernstien’s
MASS, Cabaret, Pippin, Funny Thing Happened on the Way to
the Forum, and Man of La Mancha as the Gypsy Moor dancer.
She had a lead role in the independent film “Dogs Bark” opposite
Michael Costello, which was shown at the International Film & Video
Festival in NY/LA. In Austin, Texas she worked closely with
the theater community acting, producing and directing.
